On 18 April 2026, a mass shooting occurred in the Demiivka neighborhood of the Holosiivskyi District of Kyiv, Ukraine, when a man opened fire on his neighbours and passers-by in the street before taking hostages inside a supermarket. He was shot and killed by police in a shootout when the Rapid Operational Response Unit (KORD) stormed the supermarket.
